Biography

Sira is a Senior Associate at Smith, Costello & Crawford, where she advises clients on business, real estate, and municipal matters, with a focus on highly regulated industries and the Commonwealth’s medical and adult-use cannabis framework. She serves as counsel and policy advisor on regulatory strategy and compliance, assisting clients with licensure, transactions, market entry, and growth within the cannabis industry. Her practice includes supporting mergers, acquisitions, financings, and strategic agreements by identifying regulatory risk, coordinating due diligence and state and local approvals, and advising on legislative and regulatory developments that impact operations and investment decisions.

Previously, Sira served as Deputy Legislative Director and Deputy Legal Counsel to the Massachusetts Senate Minority Leader, where she was a member of the senior legal and legislative team where she drafted, filed, and negotiated amendments on a broad range of policy and budgetary matters, working closely with legislators, stakeholders, and senior officials within the Governor’s administration. Earlier in her career, she served as a Legal Intern in the Special Prosecutions Unit of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, assisting with white-collar and cybercrime investigations and supporting trial preparation. Sira earned her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School, her Bachelor of Arts in History from Gettysburg College and is admitted to practice in Massachusetts.
